Who we are

This website and Roundel OS are provided by Lightmorphic Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17423646, at 82A James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE.

The licence

Roundel OS is free and open-source software, released under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later. That licence, not this page, governs your rights to use, study, change and redistribute it. Where anything here conflicts with it, the GPL prevails.

The source code is at github.com/lightmorphic/roundel.

No warranty, and what you are agreeing to

As the GPL states, the software is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. You use it entirely at your own risk.

Roundel OS is an operating system. It changes how a computer starts, how it logs in and how it handles its disks. Installing it replaces or resizes what is on the disk you choose, and that cannot always be undone. Back up everything that matters before you begin, and do not install it on a machine you cannot afford to have out of action.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Other people's software

Roundel OS runs on Debian, installs apps from Flathub, and can add software sources belonging to other makers. Debian, Flathub and those makers publish their own licences and terms, which travel with their software rather than with ours. The same goes for anything you install yourself.

This website

The content of this site is provided for information. We try to keep it accurate and correct mistakes when we find them, but we do not warrant that it is free of error, and pages may change or be withdrawn without notice.

Governing law, and questions

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
